Matt was born and raised in Western Sydney, in an Adventist home. At age 6, Matt’s parents moved the family to the Sopas Hospital in New Guinea. They worked as nurses and training nurses. It was a time when Christianity and the love of God rubbed shoulders with the dark traditions of the natives. 8 years later, they returned to Sydney.
Eager to study theology, Matt moved to Avondale College. Here he met and married Heidi (a teacher).
You’d expect a happy ending, wouldn’t you? Matt shares the challenges that Satan threw at him. Academically it was hard. His health took a decline. Depression set in. Matt suffered tremendously adjusting to the new challenges now facing the family.
