Daniel Collier was a typical young man, raised in a good home where his parents
sought to bring him up well. He attended church for Easter, Christmas and
funerals, but apart from that wasn’t particularly interested in religion.
He was a bright child and did well scholastically. As a result people expected he would get a good job and earn lots of money. He worked in retail selling games, but that didn’t satisfy him. Then he transferred to the police force in an endeavour to help people. However, he kept seeing repeat offenders that didn’t want his help. He thought what am I doing here? He began questioning things. He thought there has to be more to this existence than to live, to die, and become worm food.
He thought about the purpose of life and also about the after life. A thirst to know what the Bible had to say was developing in Daniel. He did some Bible studies with Jehovah’s Witnesses that came to his door, but he couldn’t accept
everything they taught as it didn’t always line up with the Bible. One day a
person came to his door selling Christian books. Daniel shared with him his
interest to understand the Bible and started weekly Bible studies the following
week. He loved what he was learning, he continued to grow spiritually and
committed his life to God in baptism. Listen to his journey!
